Summertime at Parker Gardens
Hot summer weather gives us hot summer color in the gardens. Shrubs like crape myrtle and butterfly bush are presenting huge masses of flowers that laugh at the heat. In the perennial garden, coneflowers, coreopsis and lilies are producing non-stop blasts of color. Franklinia trees are showing off with their large cool white flowers. The shade gardens are lush with fluffy astilbe, delicate ferns and the bold leaves of hostas. Fragrance emanates from lavender, nicotiana, dianthus, clematis and summer sweet.
